***Updated*** Winter League Calender 2013-2014 🙂
Hi folks! please find our updated Winter League Calender, due to circumstances beyond our control Beinn Lora has been Cancelled, but very kindly Ben Thompson has agreed that we can use the results from his race as a replacement! Massive thanks Ben. However please be aware it would be very much appreciated if participants can car share as to reduce any possible parking issues and Ben has asked that we DON’T park on the verges or grass around his or his neighbour’s houses, it would be very much appreciated, he my be able to get use of the forestry parking further up the road but will advise nearer the date. Winter League Race Calender 2013-2014
It was good to see a total of 68 runners turn out for a new and improved Druim Fada Chase with the usual suspects from the two Lochaber running clubs along with a few new faces who we hope to see through the rest of the winter league.
The route wound 7 and a half miles around the Loch Eil forestry, with a steady climb for the first 3 miles up to 370 metres before descending down to end at Annat.
The race was won in a very respectable time of 47 mins 48 secs by Finlay Wild of Lochaber AC, 2nd place was taken by Michael Bossard also of Lochaber AC in a time of 49 mins 42 and third place went to Craig Mattocks of Carnethy in 49 mins 55.
The first lady home was Diane Baum of LAC in 54 mins 37, second lady home was LAC’s Sarah MacKenzie in 57 mins 24 sec and third lady was Carnethy’s Kate Jenkins in 57 mins 48.
A big thank you to all who turned out and hope the high numbers continue through the winter league.
Please find all race results on the results page of the website.
